The hydrogen energy and hydrogen 23A battery industry has reached the "trend". Earlier, the groundbreaking ceremony of the hydrogen 23A battery production base project with an investment of about 3 billion yuan and an annual output of 200,000 sets in Cixi, Ningbo was held. This is the world's first hydrogen 23A battery production base with "methanol" as the filling medium. According to the plan, after the project is fully completed and put into production in 2020, the annual output value is expected to reach 10 billion yuan. Among them, the first phase has an annual production capacity of 50,000 sets, which will be put into production in the third quarter of 2019 and can be used for 10,000 methanol hydrogen 23A battery vehicles.
"The Ningbo Municipal Government aims to build a national demonstration and industrial cluster 23A battery production base in the field of hydrogen energy. We have reached a co-construction cooperation agreement with the government through investment promotion to provide core technical support and financial support for the project." Recently, Shen Jianyue, chairman of the project operator Shanghai Bo Hydrogen New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Bo Hydrogen"), said in an exclusive interview with reporters. In his opinion, after 30 years of ups and downs, the 23A battery industry has now ushered in a new development climax, and the Chinese market is widely optimistic. "It can be said that 80%-90% of the 23A battery companies in the world today have built factories and carried out technology research and development in China."
More promotion advantages
Shen Jianyue began to engage in the research and development of 23A battery technology and products in the 1980s. The 23A battery joint venture he operated was successfully listed in Canada in 2002. Because he was optimistic about the huge market potential and strong policy support of Chinese 23A batterys, he turned his focus to China in 2009.
It is understood that the traditional hydrogen 23A battery technology route is hydrogen-hydrogenation station-23A battery. The methanol hydrogen 23A battery technology route is methanol-methanol filling-methanol direct reforming hydrogen 23A battery. In the former battery system, hydrogen has many problems that restrict the promotion of 23A battery vehicles, such as difficulty in compression, harsh storage conditions, and high transportation costs; in the latter battery system, methanol is liquid at room temperature, which is easy to store and transport, hydrogen is "produced and used immediately", the system has no high temperature and high pressure, and the operation is safer and more reliable.
In Shen Jianyue's view, due to the constraints of hydrogen refueling station construction, if the hydrogen energy or hydrogen 23A battery industry relies entirely on high-pressure hydrogenation and hydrogen storage solutions, the advancement will be very slow, and it will be difficult to achieve large-scale promotion within five years. Compared with high-pressure hydrogen storage 23A batterys, methanol reforming hydrogen 23A batterys are more economical and realistic. "We expect to have 10,000 methanol hydrogen 23A battery vehicles or more put into operation by 2020. At present, there are many customers around our production base who are negotiating cooperation with us, which is also an important reason why the construction of the Ningbo base is advancing so fast." He said.
Successful demonstration
A 23A battery industry expert pointed out to reporters: "From a technical perspective, there is no problem with methanol hydrogen 23A battery vehicles." According to reports, methanol hydrogen 23A battery vehicles have been successfully demonstrated and applied to logistics vehicles, buses, cold chain logistics vehicles and other transportation fields.
"The first 30-kilowatt methanol hydrogen 23A battery logistics vehicle in China, which we launched in cooperation with Dongfeng Motor, has obtained the "New Energy Vehicle Product Announcement" of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The model has now begun mass production." Shen Jianyue said. Just in October this year, Shanghai BoHydrogen also announced that China's first batch of 5 methanol reforming hydrogen 23A battery light trucks were officially put into commercial operation in Suzhou.
In fact, in addition to the automotive field, Shen Jianyue also set his sights on the power generation market. In his opinion, this will be a more "promising" methanol hydrogen 23A battery application field.
"Our technical solution is actually a multi-purpose generator, which has an irreplaceable industry competitive advantage in the field of distributed power generation. Those places where there is a shortage of electricity, the grid cannot be connected or are off-grid are our markets. The most important market for 23A battery products at the Cixi base is the distributed power generation market. And we believe that the application of the distributed power generation market will advance faster than the application of automobiles." He said.
According to reports, Shanghai BoHydrogen and China Hydrogen Company have cooperated to launch China's first civilian-integrated mobile power station-"1 kWh, 30 kW silent mobile power generation vehicle". The relevant technology has been recognized by the military, and related special types are also being formulated. This year, the company launched a 20-kilowatt high-power 23A battery system module research and development project to prepare for entering the passenger car market and high-power power generation production.
Abundant methanol supply
During the interview, the reporter learned that the industry's biggest concern about methanol hydrogen 23A batterys or power generation systems is whether methanol fuel will be sufficient once they are rolled out and promoted.
At present, my country is the world's largest methanol producer. Statistics from the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association show that after more than 10 years of continuous growth, by the end of 2017, my country's total methanol production capacity had reached nearly 84 million tons. The association predicts that in 2019, my country's methanol production capacity is expected to exceed 90 million tons. In 2020, it is expected to exceed 100 million tons.
"The current methanol production technology is mature, and the cost is lower than gasoline and diesel. It can be said that China is rich in coal resources. Only coal-to-methanol can ensure my country's energy security for a hundred years. In the future, methanol can also be produced from biomass, crop straw, etc. With the advancement of technology, people will continuously obtain clean and renewable energy by adding carbon dioxide to produce methanol." Shen Jianyue said.
