    The research team made a new polymer composite material by imitating the structure of "Jabuticaba", which is known as the Brazilian grape.

     

    The r6 battery is made of a polymer composite composed of carbon nanotubes and carbon black. When this new polymer composite is stretched, the disconnected parts of the carbon black connected to the carbon nanotubes maintain their original conductivity.

     

    More importantly, lithium-ion batteries made of this composite material and aqueous electrolytes are safer and more reliable than current batteries. When these batteries are stretched, the possibility of danger is very low.

     

    There is no doubt that elastic batteries have a wide range of applications in folding devices and wearable devices, but I dont know if they will be as difficult to produce as graphene batteries.
