Research says pure electric vehicles are more environmentally friendly than hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles

According to different power sources, electric vehicles can generally be divided into hybrid vehicles, pure electric vehicles and fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles. So who will be the future of electric vehicles?

In a recent study, researchers from the United States and Germany compared pure electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles and found that pure electric vehicles are more advantageous than hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles in terms of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and are a more environmentally friendly and economical choice.

Stanford University in the United States announced in a communiqué on the 14th that in order to study which type of electric vehicles has more environmental and economic advantages, the school cooperated with researchers from the Technical University of Munich in Germany to select the town of Los Altos Hills in Santa Clara County in northern California as the research object, and speculated on the popularization of new energy vehicles, related infrastructure construction and solar energy use in the town in the next 10 to 20 years, and used a computer model specially developed by Professor Thomas Hamacher of the Technical University of Munich for simulation.

This sunny town currently has about 8,000 residents, and its solar power generation is very prominent in Santa Clara County, and its car ownership is also the highest in California. The researchers speculate that pure electric and hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles will be more widely used in the local area in the next 10 to 20 years, and electric vehicles will account for about 38% of the total local transportation by 2035. By then, the hydrogen fuel used by local hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles will be prepared using the cheapest local electricity, mainly solar power or power grid power.

The researchers input the above speculation together with the total amount of energy required by the town of Los Altos Hills in a day and the cost of building electric vehicle-related infrastructure into the computer model. The simulation analysis found that pure electric vehicles perform better than hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles in reducing carbon emissions. In order for hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles to be competitive in terms of overall cost, vehicle pricing must be much lower than that of pure electric vehicles. However, the reality is that in the foreseeable future, hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles will be much more expensive than pure electric vehicles.

Previous studies have shown that the excess clean energy stored in hydrogen refueling facilities related to hydrogen fuel-powered R6 Carbon battery vehicles can be used for building heating, lighting, etc. The latest research suggests that only a small portion of the hydrogen stored in the above form can be used for heating and lighting in buildings in 2035, so the environmental and economic benefits of hydrogen fuel cell R6 Carbon battery vehicles in this regard are not reflected.

The researchers said that although the object of their simulation was a small town in northern California, the results are also applicable to many sunny communities in California. They hope to expand the research objects to larger communities in the future and add other factors that may affect consumers' choice of pure electric vehicles or hydrogen fuel cell R6 Carbon battery vehicles to the research.

Matthew Perlo, who participated in the study, said that this study provides objective and data-supported analysis to help decision makers in California and elsewhere understand which technical path is more advantageous in addressing climate change.
