    1. Different application scenarios

    Power batteries are mainly used in new energy vehicles, electric bicycles, electric trains and other vehicles, while energy storage batteries are mostly used as renewable energy batteries such as solar power generation, wind power generation, hydropower power generation and other solar power generation.

    2, the cycle life is different

    At present, in the mainstream power battery, the life of ternary lithium battery is generally 1200 charge and discharge cycles, while that of lithium iron phosphate battery is 2000 times. Because the energy storage battery is more frequent charge and discharge, the requirement for cycle life is higher. The life requirement of general energy storage battery is 3500-5000 charge and discharge cycles.

     

    3. Different volumes

    Power battery is mostly used in new energy vehicles. The volume of a battery is equivalent to the appearance of about ten or twenty large carpets stacked together, while the energy storage battery generally consists of multiple battery modules forming a large module, and then composed of large modules forming many energy storage batteries with a volume close to a container.

    4. Different cost structure

    In the energy storage battery system, the cost of the battery accounts for 60%, the cost of the energy storage inverter accounts for 20%, the energy management system accounts for 10%, and the battery management system accounts for 5%. In the power battery, only the cost of the battery cell accounts for as high as 80%, and the remaining 20% are the battery management system, structural parts, accessories, etc.

     

    As for how to distinguish between power battery and energy storage battery, the simplest way is to look at the use of the battery. At present, most power batteries are used as the power source of new energy vehicles, while energy storage batteries can only be found in solar power stations, wind power stations, hydroelectric power stations and other places.
