From the perspective of the Chinese market, the installation rate of start-stop systems is also increasing rapidly. The data given by Pei Xinbin is: in 2012, the standard rate of domestic automobile start-stop systems was only 10.24%, and by 2018 it had reached 56.29%. Specifically, domestic joint venture brand cars such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, and General Motors have adopted start-stop systems as standard equipment. Among them, high-end car brands basically use AGM batteries, and most Volkswagen and Japanese cars use EFB batteries. Mainstream models of domestic independent brands also use EFB batteries.

Start-stop battery with better performance
Technically speaking, Pei Xinbin said that compared with traditional batteries, the start-stop system puts forward higher requirements for EFB battery performance: higher cycle life, 2-3 times longer than ordinary batteries; higher low-temperature and high-rate discharge performance , more than 25% higher than ordinary batteries; higher safety, you need to consider the function settings of EFB batteries and other issues; better dynamic charging capabilities, can adapt to the charging strategy of starting and stopping the car, and can quickly charge under different charging conditions Complete its own kinetic energy supplement; better consistency.
In order to meet the needs of reducing fuel consumption and emissions, current car charging systems adopt intelligent charging, which dynamically adjusts mainly based on battery power and temperature. Pei Xinbin explained that the start-stop system is implemented by installing an EBS device on the negative electrode of the battery. The device collects the battery voltage, current temperature and then determines the SOD value of the battery.
