Lithium batteries can be understood as batteries containing lithium elements (including lithium metal, lithium alloy, lithium ion, lithium polymer), which can be divided into lithium metal batteries (very little production and use) and lithium-ion batteries (today's mass use). Rechargeable can be divided into primary battery and secondary battery, rechargeable or non-rechargeable battery. The inside of the battery adopts a spiral wound structure, with a very fine and highly permeable polyethylene film isolation material between the positive and negative electrodes. The positive electrode includes a lithium collector composed of lithium and cobalt dioxide and a current collector composed of an aluminum film. The negative electrode consists of a lithium collector composed of a sheet carbon material and a current collector composed of a copper film. The battery is filled with an organic electrolyte solution. In addition, there are safety valves and PTC components to protect the battery from damage in abnormal conditions and output short circuits. The voltage of a single lithium-ion battery is 3.6V, and the capacity can not be infinite, so the single lithium-ion battery is often processed in series and parallel to meet the requirements of different occasions.

The basic principle of lithium-metal batteries or lithium-ion batteries is REDOX reaction, and the three most core parts of the battery are negative, positive, and electrolyte. Lithium-ion batteries are divided into liquid Lithium-ion batteries (liquified lithium-ion Battery, referred to as LIB) and Polymer lithium-ion batteries (polymer lithium-ion Battery, referred to as PLB) according to the composition of the electrolyte. The positive and negative electrode materials of the two are the same, the positive electrode materials are lithium cobalt, lithium manganese, etc., and the negative is graphite. The working principle is basically the same, the main difference is the electrolyte, LIB uses a liquid electrolyte, PLB uses a solid polymer electrolyte, this electrolyte is "dry" or "colloidal", most of the polymer gel electrolyte is used at present.

PLB works the same way as LIB. The battery structure mainly includes positive electrode, negative electrode and electrolyte, the so-called PLB refers to the use of polymer materials in at least one of the three main structures, the polymer materials in the current polymer lithium-ion battery system are mainly used for positive electrode and electrolyte, positive electrode materials include conductive polymer polymer, electrolyte using solid or colloidal polymer electrolyte. The new generation of polymer lithium-ion batteries can be designed into almost any shape, up to 0.5mm thin, greatly improving the flexibility of battery modeling. The unit energy of the polymer lithium-ion battery is 20%-50% higher than that of the current general lithium-ion battery. The battery is labeled Li-ion, which is lithium-ion battery, but it is not sure which one.
