      Solid polymer electrolyte lithium-ion batteries do not have organic solvents like liquid or colloidal electrolytes, so they are very stable and not prone to dangerous conditions caused by overcharging, collisions or other damage, and excessive use. However, its ionic conductivity is low at room temperature, and it is often only suitable for use under high temperature conditions.

      However, recently, a number of institutions have announced their invention of solid polymer lithium batteries, which can be used in a wide temperature range, and the polymer's ion conductivity and traditional conductive liquid phase when fully reached the applicable value.

      Additives such as plasticizers are added to the solid polymer electrolyte of the lithium-ion battery to improve the ionic conductivity, so that the lithium battery can be used at room temperature. This polymer lithium battery uses aluminum-plastic film encapsulation, its internal structure is different from liquid lithium batteries, although there are still safety risks, but will not explode, only bulge.

      At present, the positive electrode of the laminated all-solid polymer lithium-ion battery is coated with manganese compound active substance, and lithium metal is directly used as the negative electrode active substance, and has a solid electrolyte. Using lithium metal directly as a negative active material has many advantages, the first is that it has a high reversible capacity, and its theoretical value is as high as 3862mAh/g, which is more than ten times the current use of graphite negative active materials. The price of lithium metal is quite low, especially in China, not to mention the lithium mines that have been developed in Jiangxi, Qinghai and Xinjiang, it has the world's leading resource reserves, according to media reports, in recent years, the "Shannan" area of Tibet has been explored undeveloped lithium metal reserves, enough for 2 billion advanced luxury electric cars (total power of 480kW, 480kW).       In the past, the reason why lithium metal has not been widely used as a negative active material is that lithium metal crystallizes to form dendritic lithium metal in the negative electrode - "dendrite lithium". "Dendrite lithium" growth to a certain extent will puncture the diaphragm, resulting in internal short circuit of the battery, a serious threat to personal safety. And now the use of solid electrolyte as a lithium ion conduction pathway, can effectively inhibit the growth of "dendrite lithium", so lithium metal directly as the negative active material, not only can avoid the liquid or colloidal lithium battery leakage phenomenon, but also can be made into a higher energy density, smaller volume of laminated solid electrolyte polymer lithium ion battery. In the next two to three years, the above-mentioned laminated lithium-ion batteries are likely to replace half of the liquid lithium-ion battery market. The layered all-solid polymer lithium-ion battery will be the next generation of various electric vehicle power battery packs and become an indispensable energy storage component.
