Current status and technological innovation of power LR44 battery recycling
Introduction to major foreign recycling process technologies
In terms of current recycling technology, it is mainly traditional metallurgical technology, and mainly focuses on the recycling of lithium cobalt oxide batteries and ternary batteries. For example, Toxco in the United States processes lithium batteries of different types and chemical properties. The process is as follows: taking advantage of the brittleness of the material at low temperatures, the waste batteries are crushed at low temperature in liquid nitrogen (-198°C), and then the crushed materials are dissolved with acid and alkali successively to recover lithium carbonate, metal oxides, and The principle process of plastic chips is shown in the figure on the right. This process requires liquid nitrogen crushing, which has high energy consumption, complex equipment, long process, and high cost. Judging from the process flow, lithium iron phosphate batteries can also be processed, but they cannot be profitable.
Introduction to major domestic recycling process technologies
advantage:
The extraction ratio of rare and precious metals such as cobalt, nickel, lithium, and manganese is relatively high, ensuring that these metals can be returned to the power battery.
shortcoming:
The overall battery recycling rate is low (by weight): ternary: less than 50%, iron-lithium: less than 30%. The electrolysis process adopts low-temperature incineration method. The diaphragm and electrolyte produce dioxins during the incineration process, which can easily cause secondary pollution. The wet production process adds strong acid, strong alkali, large amounts of ammonia, etc. If not handled properly, there is a risk of contaminating air, water, and soil.
