      US company develops 3.7V Lithium Polymer Battery with energy density reaching 432Wh/kg

      According to foreign media reports, TeraWatt Technology, a division of the American new energy company SF Motors, announced the launch of a 4.5Ah 3.7V Lithium Polymer Battery design prototype, and the energy density of the battery reached a record-breaking 432Wh/kg (1122Wh/L).

      Currently, third parties including Japan's TOYO System are conducting verification tests on the battery prototype.

      This 4.5Ah next-generation 3.7V Lithium Polymer Battery, branded TERA3.0, will be launched for some early users in 2021 and will be fully available in 2022. At the same time, TeraWatt Technology will continue to iterate the TERA3.0 design line and further develop other battery designs, including different battery modes, sizes and energy capacities.

      TeraWatt Technology was founded in 2017 as a division of Santa Clara, California-based SF Motors (SERES).

      Dr. Tang Yifan, Chief Technology Officer of SERES, officially announced the 4.5Ah 3.7V Lithium Polymer Battery prototype at the FISITA PLUS 2019 travel conference in London, England.

      Ken Ogata, senior manager of battery technology at SERES, said that over the past 30 years, lithium-ion batteries have been dominant in consumer electronics, automobiles and other fields, and TERA3.0 will be able to surpass traditional lithium-ion battery solutions. Using this 3.7V Lithium Polymer Battery, consumers can get longer-lasting, safer, and more reliable devices.

      In addition, in order to use existing lithium-ion battery production equipment to mass-produce TERA3.0 solid-state batteries, the latter has been specially designed to make the solid-state batteries more reliable without imposing a huge economic burden on manufacturers and consumers. mass adoption soon.
