Standardize the recycling market of lithium batteries

On March 3, it was reported that the 2022 national two sessions will be held, the National People's Congress deputy, chairman and president of Gree Electric Appliances Dong Mingzhu, suggested improving power battery safety monitoring standards and regulating the lithium battery recycling market.

Dong Mingzhu mentioned that at present, under the guidance of national policies, the power battery industry has ushered in explosive growth, but the battery thermal runaway incidents also frequently threaten public safety. In the current stage of the industry development, how to establish the industry norms and regulatory standards, improve the safety of power batteries is an urgent concern of the society.

"Battery safety accident is essentially a battery thermal runaway accident. Needle experiment, as a method of simulating thermal runaway inducement, is very strict and effective. Therefore, the national standard should further improve the safety of power batteries, and promote the new energy industry to a more standardized direction."Said Dong Mingzhu.

Dong suggested improving safety monitoring standards for power batteries, such as incorporating strict safety testing methods such as acupuncture experiments into the mandatory national standards, and timely revising relevant standards according to technological progress.

"Standardize the recycling market of lithium batteries to avoid the large-scale inflow of inferior waste lithium batteries into the market.Clear law enforcement subjects, improve the comprehensive law enforcement mechanism, and ensure the safety of the whole process of power batteries from the factory, use to recycling."Dong Mingzhu suggested.

Lithium battery explosion is too terrible, it is very necessary to master these safety knowledge!
