      Major breakthrough in graphene 6F22 battery technology, focus on positive and negative pole leaders

      The graphene coating technology developed by a team led by Zhao Jinping, a Ph.D. from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences and chief scientist of Beijing Shengmeng Technology Co., Ltd., can increase the specific capacity of lithium-ion battery cathode materials by 15%-25% and increase the capacity of lithium-ion battery cathode materials after 1,000 cycles. The capacity retention rate is increased by 30%-40%; the capacity of the negative electrode material is increased by 40%-45%, and the capacity retention rate after 1,000 cycles is increased by 35%-50%.

      This means that applying graphene-coated lithium-ion positive and negative electrode material technology to vehicle power batteries is expected to increase the current energy density of ternary lithium-ion batteries (about 200 Wh/kg) and reach the "Key Points for Smart Cars" "Technology Industrialization Implementation Plan" proposed a target of 300 Wh/kg for vehicle power battery energy density in 2020.

According to statistics from the Advanced Industrial Research Institute, in May 2018, the installed capacity of lithium batteries in the new energy vehicle market reached 4.5GWh, a year-on-year increase of 181%. From January to May this year, the cumulative installed capacity of the new energy vehicle market reached 12.7GWh. , a year-on-year increase of 199%.
