But in actual application, for different batteries, can this technology extend the life of the 2200mah 18650 battery or damage the 2200mah 18650 battery energy instead? 1. Once the balancing module fails, the actual voltage of the 2200mah 18650 battery is normal 2.25V, but the balancing module detects it as 2.0V. This will continuously charge the 2200mah 18650 battery, causing the 2200mah 18650 battery to be damaged due to overcharging. On the contrary, if the balance module detects 2.4V, it will continuously discharge the 2200mah 18650 battery, causing the 2200mah 18650 battery to be over-discharged and damaged. 2. For a 2200mah 18650 battery pack that has been running for several years, the internal resistance will become discrete. Batteries with higher internal resistance require a higher float voltage to fully charge them. If the balancing module adjusts its voltage to a normal voltage, It will cause the 2200mah 18650 battery to be damaged due to insufficient charging for a long time.
Therefore, 2200mah 18650 battery balancing will cause unpredictable safety risks to the entire power system. Currently, this technology should do more harm than good and is not worth adopting in many situations.
