      Recently, Faurecia, a global auto parts technology company, officially announced the establishment of a global technology center focused on the research and development of hydrogen storage systems. The technology center is located in the Faurecia R&D Center in Bawang, France. Faurecia will invest in the development of a new generation of more efficient and lighter high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks.

      It is reported that Faurecia invested a total of about 25 million euros (equivalent to about 190 million yuan) in establishing the technical center, including 4.9 million euros (equivalent to about 3790 yuan) from the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region in France. million) financial subsidy, the newly established technology center is scheduled to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2020. Currently, nearly 750 employees are working in the center to develop the Faurecia Green Mobility system. In the future, Faurecia plans to create 50 new jobs for high-quality talents.

      Christophe Schmitt, Executive Vice President of Faurecia Green Mobility Systems, said: “Our establishment of a hydrogen storage tank technology center in France marks a key step for Faurecia in its global hydrogen fuel system strategy. Previously, Faurecia established a cooperation with STELIA Aerospace Composites Company and announced that it had obtained the intellectual property rights and process technology of composite hydrogen storage tanks.

      With the support of STELIA Aerospace Composites, Faurecia will have the ability to design, industrialize and commercialize carbon fiber composite high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks for fuel cell vehicles. Faurecia expects that 5 million vehicles equipped with fuel cell technology will be put into production by 2035, and carbon fiber composites are an ideal material for hydrogen storage tanks, which can withstand high pressure and maximize lightweight.
