Lithium silicate aqueous solution precipitates when heated, but if the precipitate does not overheat or dehydrate, it can still dissolve again after cooling. Lithium silicate aqueous solution has the characteristic of reacting with the surfaces of glass, steel, aluminum, and fibers with hydrophilic surfaces to form a film. It can be carried out above 60 ℃, and the higher the temperature, the faster the reaction. Due to different preparation methods, SiO2 in lithium silicate aqueous solutions can be in a crystalline or colloidal state, while usually stable colloidal SiO2 solutions have little or no crystalline SiO2; When used as a coating, the performance of the coating film made of SiO2 crystalline silicate is significantly better than that of the coating film made of colloidal silicate. It is worth noting that the dry film formed by lithium silicate aqueous solution on smooth surfaces (metal, glass, etc.) is discontinuous, with poor adhesion, peeling, and powder shedding.
