I have told you about the general method of recycling lithium battery packs before. In fact, it is only the most basic and common method. Today I will introduce to you a different method, dry recycling. Dry recycling, this method can be seen from its name, it does not require any liquid or other media to recycle lithium battery packs. The main ones are two major steps, mechanical separation method and high temperature separation and pyrolysis method. The mechanical sorting method is to disassemble and classify the materials in the used lithium battery pack based on the different densities, magnetism, etc., to achieve basic physical classification in the early stage. There are also big drawbacks to using mechanical sorting. Mechanical sorting is not as easy as manual sorting and it is easier to damage materials. The high-temperature pyrolysis method removes the binder of the lithium battery pack through high-temperature incineration to separate the materials. After high-temperature incineration, the metal in the battery will oxidize, reduce and decompose. This method is simple but energy-intensive. The advantage of dry recycling technology is that it can recover more secondary metals from used lithium battery packs, but the disadvantage is that it causes secondary pollution and consumes high energy. Recycling used batteries is not only to protect the ecological environment, but also an effective way to save resources. Don’t throw away used batteries randomly and start with yourself.
