      The latest survey of new energy vehicle owners shows that cruising range and vehicle quality are still the biggest "pitfalls" of new energy vehicles. Nearly 70% of car owners said they regretted purchasing new energy vehicles, and more than 64% of car owners said they would not recommend new energy vehicles to their friends.       In terms of new energy vehicle recall data, according to data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation, a total of 7 manufacturing companies were urged to recall 121,400 defective vehicles involving 33 models in 2018; the causes of defects were mainly electronic controls, machinery, electrical appliances and Battery system failure.

      While complaints are increasing, subsidies are declining. According to the plan, new energy vehicle subsidies will be completely phased out by the end of 2020. In 2019, the subsidy policy was significantly reduced, and the sales growth of new energy vehicles slowed down in 2019. As the country relaxes the policy of foreign investment entering my country's new energy vehicle market, many people in the industry have pessimistic about the development of new energy vehicles.

      Government and enterprises work together to tackle quality problems

      Although new energy vehicles currently have many technical bottlenecks, they also face many market challenges. From the perspective of ownership, the number of new energy vehicles in 2018 reached 2.61 million, accounting for 1.09% of the total number of vehicles. From a statistical perspective, the number of new energy vehicles has increased by an average of 500,000 units per year in the past five years, showing an accelerating growth trend. According to statistics from Sina.com, 38.1% of consumers choose to buy new energy vehicles mainly because they consider environmental issues. Strong market demand for new energy vehicles still exists.

      In addition, my country's new energy vehicles are in a favorable development atmosphere, both in terms of policy and technology, and it is more likely that the overall quality and after-sales service experience of new energy vehicles will improve rapidly.

      In terms of policies, in addition to loosening purchase restrictions, local governments have introduced many policies on defective vehicle recalls, charging pile infrastructure, standardized charging training, and industrial quality development to provide policies for the development of new energy vehicles and related post-purchase services.       In terms of technology, new energy vehicle production and R&D companies have also increased research and development efforts to accelerate the improvement of the overall quality of new energy vehicles. In terms of cruising range, BYD's new energy vehicles currently have a cruising range of more than 300km, which is at the world's first-class level, and their cruising capabilities are still improving. At present, my country ranks third in the world in the number of new energy vehicle patent applications, and the level of power battery R&D and manufacturing has been greatly improved. Some domestic power batteries have certain international market competitiveness in terms of energy density, cycle life, safety performance, etc., and the market The drive to improve technology is increasingly evident.
