With the arrival of large-scale retirement of power batteries, power battery recycling has become the focus of the industry. On May 20, Beijing Science and Technology Collaboration Center and Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance jointly hosted the "Power Battery Echelon Utilization and Recycling Innovation Technology Forum". More than 20 well-known industry and academic experts from domestic scientific research institutions, grid-side companies, automobile companies, battery and system integration companies, etc. in the field of power battery recycling were invited to conduct in-depth discussions on innovative power battery echelon utilization and recycling technologies. This event aims to build a communication and docking platform between scientific research and industry, seek paths for industrial development and technological innovation, and actively promote the in-depth integration of industry, academia and research. From the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, National Materials Service Safety Science Center, Shanghai Space Power Research Institute, State Power Investment Corporation Science and Technology Research Institute, National Energy Group Beijing Low Carbon Clean Energy Research Institute, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Expert representatives from the China Economic and Technological Research Institute, China Southern Power Grid Scientific Research Institute, Beijing New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. and other institutions attended and participated in the discussion. The forum focused on the industry status, key technologies and application practices of power battery echelon utilization and recycling. All parties participating in the meeting stated that solving the problem of power battery recycling and improving the power battery recycling system requires the joint efforts of the government, scientific research institutions and business entities. Safety and economy are the key points and difficulties in the echelon utilization and recycling of power batteries. The top-level design of power batteries should be strengthened to control key issues from the source through different working conditions, multiple scenarios, re-evaluation, and technology improvement. The next stage should focus on promoting the establishment of a standardized recycling system, improving the coordination of recycling standards, researching key common technologies, and jointly promoting the scientific and effective recycling and rational utilization of power batteries.
