1、 Constant current charging, which means that the current is constant, and the voltage of lithium batteries gradually increases with the charging process. According to the above specifications, charging is generally carried out at a current of 0.2C (C is a method of comparing the nominal capacity of the battery with the current, 0.2C is 400mA). When the battery voltage is close to the full charge voltage of 4.2V, constant current charging is changed to constant voltage charging. This process takes about five hours.
2、 Constant voltage charging means that the voltage is constant, while the current gradually decreases as the saturation degree of the battery cell deepens. According to regulations, when the current decreases to 0.01C or 20mA, charging is considered terminated. After adding up this process and constant current charging time, the total charging time should not exceed eight hours. Therefore, there are two criteria for determining whether a lithium battery has reached saturation during charging: firstly, the current is 0.01C, and secondly, the total duration does not exceed eight hours. In other words, if the lithium battery charging process cannot reach 0.01C after eight hours, it is considered a non-conforming product. At this point, we have a theoretical understanding of how to charge lithium-ion batteries. When charging lithium-ion batteries, users only need to follow the method specified in the manual of the regular charger, because regular lithium-ion battery chargers are designed based on the characteristics of the lithium-ion battery, including the process of constant current and constant voltage charging. We only need to judge whether the battery is fully charged based on the indicator light of the charger. In case of abnormal charger, we can use 8 hours as the basis (assuming that your charger is 0.1C).
