The achievement of Wu Yuping's research group on the safety and non explosion of new water lithium batteries provides the possibility for the development of new low-cost, easy to mass produce, safe and environmentally friendly battery systems.
Lithium batteries have added another research direction. Professor Wu Yuping from the New Energy and Materials Laboratory of Fudan University introduced that currently, lithium-ion batteries have been made into simulated batteries, but their capacity is still very small.
Lithium water batteries are one of the forefront and directions in the development of lithium batteries today. The core issue is how to prevent lithium ions from reacting with water at low potentials, and ceramic separators have become the key technology. In theory, lithium-ion batteries have a high energy density and an energy efficiency of up to 95%. Electric vehicles equipped with lithium-ion batteries can travel up to 400 kilometers at full charge, while charging time is very short. In addition, lithium water batteries are less prone to overheating during use and have higher safety performance.
Analysis suggests that this technology has improved energy density and is expected to solve the current problems of high battery costs, short battery life, and long charging time in electric vehicles. However, the development of this technology has only achieved a breakthrough in principle and has been validated in the laboratory. Moreover, the current developed battery capacity is too small, and only the successful development of large capacity batteries can have substantive significance
