      Lithium manganate battery refers to the battery whose cathode is made of lithium manganate material. Its nominal voltage is 2.5~4.2v. Lithium manganate battery is widely used because of its low cost and good safety. Lithium manganate battery is a cathode material with low cost, good safety and low temperature performance, but the material itself is not very stable and is easy to decompose to generate gas, so it is mostly used in combination with other materials to reduce the cost of the battery cell.       The ternary lithium battery generally refers to the ternary polymer lithium battery. It refers to the lithium battery whose positive electrode material is lithium nickel cobalt manganate (Li (NiCoMn) O2) or lithium nickel cobalt aluminate ternary positive electrode material. The ternary composite positive electrode material is made of nickel salt, cobalt salt and manganese salt as raw materials. The proportion of nickel, cobalt and manganese in the ternary composite positive electrode material can be adjusted according to the actual needs. The battery with ternary material as the positive electrode is safer than the lithium cobalt battery, but the voltage is too low, When it is used on the mobile phone (the cut-off voltage of the mobile phone is generally about 3.0V), there will be an obvious feeling of insufficient capacity.

      The main raw material of lithium manganate battery, manganese, is very abundant in China, so the manufacturing cost is very low. The raw materials of ternary lithium batteries are rare metals, and the global reserves are relatively limited, so its manufacturing cost is also quite high.

      2. Cycle life

      Generally, the cycle life of lithium manganate battery can reach 600-800 times, while the cycle life of ternary lithium battery can reach more than 2000 times.

      3. Development prospect

      Lithium manganate has many advantages, such as rich resources, low cost, pollution-free, good safety, and good rate performance. However, its poor cycle performance and electrochemical stability greatly limit its industrial development. At present, lithium manganate batteries are mainly used in electric two wheeled vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and power packs.

      With the advantages of long cycle life and high energy density, ternary lithium batteries are widely used in the field of new energy vehicles. Many new energy vehicles use ternary lithium power battery packs.
