The separator is a high-value-added material with the highest technical barriers among lithium battery materials, with a gross profit margin of up to 70%, accounting for 20%-30% of the cost of lithium-ion batteries, and has a direct impact on battery safety and cost. Recently, the International Energy Agency (IEA) updated the "Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (pHEV) Technology Roadmap" for 2050, which was announced by the agency in November 2009. The new plan proposes that the industry and the government work together to achieve global EV and pHEV sales of at least 5 million vehicles per year by 2020, and account for more than half of light vehicle sales by 2050.
