    What tips should be paid attention to when designing 12V23A battery?

     

    1. 12V23A battery use switching elements inside. When the temperature inside the battery rises, the resistance value rises accordingly. When the temperature is too high, the discharge stops, and excessive discharge is prevented.

     

    2. The battery vent is set on the structure. When the internal pressure of the battery rises to a certain level, the vent automatically opens to keep the internal pressure flat and prevent the internal pressure imbalance from causing the battery to explode.

     

    3. Optimize the electrolyte system. The main electrolytes on the market are mainly organic solvents, which are difficult to withstand high voltages above 4.5V. It is easy to analyze and produce gas, causing the battery to swell and explode; therefore, the development of low-solvent or solvent-free polymer electrolytes and organic-inorganic composite electrolytes is the best way to improve battery safety.

     

    When we design products that require the use of 12V23A battery, we must design protection circuits for 12V23A battery, and only on this basis can we design charging circuits. We will understand that 12V23A battery must have overvoltage charging protection, overvoltage discharge protection, overcurrent discharge protection, short-circuit protection, etc. Therefore, when we design lithium-ion battery protection circuits, we must at least achieve the above protection functions.

     

    The lithium-ion battery charger design should have an adaptive power path management function. When the power consumption of the system exceeds the supply limit of the input power supply, the lithium-ion battery can be actively started to discharge and supply the required power to the system. The charger consumes very little power. When the battery is below 3V, the IC should preset the current at 10% of the set charging current.

     

    The lithium-ion battery charger IC should have active power path management. This power path management requires real-time adjustment of the lithium-ion battery charging current when the load current is loaded/unloaded, and effective monitoring and management meet the current limit and soft activation function requirements specified by USb-IF.
