What are the testing methods for electric vehicle 1.2V NiMH batteries?

    1. Use a multimeter to test the quality of electric vehicle batteries

The most accurate way to professionally detect battery capacity is to use a discharge meter to detect it. C=W=IUt, that is, the capacity is equal to the discharge current ampere (A) x voltage volt (V) x time second or hour (S or H). Generally, the rated capacity is discharged at a rate of 0.5-2 times. For example, a 12AH battery is fully charged and discharged for two hours at the rated voltage and current. The current size is inversely proportional to the discharge time and discharge capacity. The larger the discharge current, such as 2 times, the discharge time is more than one hour, and the discharge capacity is about 8AH. On the contrary, the discharge at a rate of 0.5 times can be discharged for more than two hours and 15AH.

    2. Professional testing methods for electric vehicle 1.2V NiMH batteries

    1. After fully charging the battery, connect the battery, ammeter, and resistor wire.

    2. The battery is broken. Some electric vehicles have internal short circuits in 1.2V NiMH batteries, which are manifested as voltage but no current in the battery, power in the vehicle, and no rotation of the motor. If a new set of batteries is replaced and the vehicle is normal, then it is a battery problem.

    3. The green light of the charger does not switch. The green light of the charger does not switch when charging. The green light of the charger is on when the battery is not loaded. Generally, it is caused by lack of water or dilute sulfuric acid in the battery. After opening the battery cover, unscrew the one-way valve or safety valve, and inject an appropriate amount of special replenishing liquid into the battery. It can be switched after charging for 6-10 hours.

    4. The electric vehicle has a short range. Test whether the no-load current and running current of the vehicle are too large. The no-load current should not exceed 1.2A, and the running current should not be greater than 7.5A when the load is 75kg, the speed is 20km/h, and the flat cement or asphalt road is driving. If the above situation occurs, replace the controller or motor and detect again.
