Generally speaking, there are three main types of robot batteries: nickel hydrogen batteries, lithium batteries, and lead-acid batteries. The choice of robot battery depends on the type of robot. At present, robots include large robots, intelligent service robots, competitive robots, toy robots, and adventure robots. Let's take a look at which robot batteries are generally used for which robots.
1. Nickel hydrogen robot battery
Robots that choose nickel hydrogen batteries as their power source are usually low-level toy robots. Because this type of robot was not initially expensive, the manufacturing cost must be limited. In terms of battery prices, nickel hydrogen batteries are a better choice. Toy robots do not require large space and high current discharge, and have relatively high safety regulations. Nickel hydrogen batteries perfectly meet these requirements.
2. Robot chooses lithium-ion battery
Intelligent service robots, entertainment competition robots, or adventure explosion robots for special purposes are generally used for selecting lithium-ion batteries for robot batteries. Firstly, these robots are not sensitive to the cost of battery selection, and require batteries to be lighter, have larger capacity, provide high current discharge, and ensure long lifespan. So soft pack lithium batteries are a more suitable choice. There are two types of soft pack lithium batteries: soft pack lithium batteries and soft pack lithium iron phosphate batteries. As for these two types of lithium batteries, polymer lithium batteries have better energy density (capacity), high current discharge, and low-temperature performance than lithium iron phosphate batteries, and are therefore widely used in some competitive and special robot fields. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are widely used in the field of AI service robots or industrial large-scale robots. Due to the fact that AI intelligent robots such as catering operation robots and bank lobby robots do not require batteries to provide high current discharge and low-temperature performance, and pay more attention to the use of battery life, iron lithium batteries are exactly in line with these requirements.
3. Choose lead-acid battery robot
The robot that chooses lead-acid batteries is basically a non mobile robot. Because lead-acid batteries are heavy, it is very inconvenient to install them on mobile robots. Lead acid batteries are generally used as backup power sources. In addition, its installation and application costs are relatively low, with good consistency, a long history of development, and relatively complete technology, therefore it has certain advantages in the industrial field. However, due to its serious environmental pollution hazards and unfavorable requirements for sustainable development, it is gradually being replaced by lithium iron phosphate batteries.
