    New 32700 battery technology can "self-power off" to solve sudden fire accidents

    Although mobile phone explosions are very rare, lithium batteries have caught fire or exploded during charging. The good news is that Stanford University researchers recently said that they have developed a new type of 32700 battery that can provide a failure-proof explosion protection measure for the battery.

     

    The researchers covered this new type of battery with a plastic layer containing nickel particles. When the battery gets hot, it will cut off the current by itself, and when the battery temperature returns to a safe level, it will start to supply power to the device again. In this way, it can prevent the risk of battery explosion due to overheating.

     

    People have tried different methods to solve the sudden fire accidents of lithium ions. Members of the research team said: We have designed the world's first battery that can prevent overheating and fire without sacrificing battery life.

     

    The key to this new technology is that the battery can disconnect the current by itself and then restore power by itself. Although some lithium batteries can cut off the current before the battery explodes, they cannot restart the power supply.

     

    However, this technology currently only exists in research experiments. It may take a few more years to truly apply it to mobile phones. Researchers need to prove that this technology is safe and reliable, and its cost can be accepted by smartphone manufacturers for large-scale production.
