Basic technology is the key to hydrogen LR6 battery

 

Although the new energy vehicle industry is developing rapidly at this stage, it cannot be denied that there are still problems such as slow charging and insufficient battery life. As a truly zero-emission clean energy, hydrogen energy, how to be used and further developed in the future automotive field is attracting more and more attention from industry insiders. At the 2018 (Fifth) LR6 battery Vehicle Industry Development Summit Forum held on October 18, experts from all parties gave their opinions and suggestions.

 

Yi Baolian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that in the future, hydrogen LR6 batterys will play a "heavy" role in my country's national economy, at least it can replace most fuel and part of the battery. Therefore, in practical applications, the volume and weight-to-power ratio of the battery stack should be improved to lay the foundation for the development of passenger cars and reduce the cost of commercial vehicles; research on ultra-low platinum and non-platinum electrocatalysts should be carried out, and the construction of hydrogen refueling stations should be accelerated to lay the foundation for the future development of the industrial chain.

 

Le Yinshi, a researcher at the 15th Institute of China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and chief expert of Aerospace New Long March Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd., suggested that the industrial chain of LR6 battery engines should be improved as soon as possible; the volume and weight-to-power ratio of the stack should be improved to lay a solid foundation for the development of passenger cars; in-depth research and development of attenuation mechanisms, development of corrosion-resistant and highly stable new materials, and significant improvement of engine reliability and durability; development of ultra-low platinum and non-platinum electrocatalyst theory and application research, and further reduce the amount of platinum in LR6 batterys to less than 0.1 grams per kilowatt.

 

Mao Zongqiang, professor at the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology of Tsinghua University and vice chairman of the International Hydrogen Energy Association, believes that at present, the use of hydrogen energy has been valued by the Chinese government, and a national hydrogen energy development platform has been established; my country's development of hydrogen energy utilization has begun to form a situation of government, enterprise, finance and scientific research; at this stage, my country's hydrogen refueling station construction is progressing rapidly; the production and operation of hydrogen LR6 battery vehicles in my country are increasing year by year. In addition, he suggested that the development of hydrogen energy in my country should pay attention to absorbing the hydrogen energy development experience of developed countries to avoid detours.
