    Of course, the biggest highlight of the RGNathalie is its power-it does not use pure electric, but uses a fuel cell, which is decomposed by adding methanol to form hydrogen, and then converts hydrogen into electricity to drive the vehicle, so there is no need to worry about charging and endurance like those pure electric vehicles. Of course, it can also be charged. In terms of cruising range, the electric energy obtained through the above form and the plug-in system can also increase the cruising range to about 1,200 kilometers.

     

    It is easy to replace gasoline with methanol, but how to make it?

     

    Methanol is a by-product of coal chemical industry and natural gas chemical industry. China is the world's largest producer, but due to limited application scenarios, the utilization rate is very low. The natural advantages of methanol are low freezing point and strong cold resistance. At present, methanol reforming hydrogen fuel cell technology is widely used in power stations in cold areas of Northern Europe. The heat release characteristic of methanol reforming hydrogen production process is also beneficial to promote this type of extended-range vehicle in cold areas.

     

    It is also understood that it only costs less than 1 million yuan to transform a traditional gas station into a methanol station. And in terms of raw material cost, its price is much cheaper than gasoline. Therefore, in the future, the application scenarios of this type of methanol in China may have the opportunity to be enriched.

     

    In addition, the method of using methanol reforming to produce hydrogen can also avoid the shortcomings of liquid or gaseous free hydrogen, such as explosion, volatility and flammability. And because high-temperature fuel cells do not need to use extremely high-purity hydrogen, hydrogen can also be produced from methanol through catalytic reactions. In general, the excess hydrogen produced during the catalytic process will be directly discharged. RG uses this excess hydrogen to maintain the temperature of the catalytic reaction. This can achieve a higher power conversion efficiency, and ultimately reach a power conversion efficiency of 45%. From the data provided by the manufacturer, it can be seen that for every 5kWh of electricity generated by the RG methanol reforming hydrogen fuel cell, only about 4.5 liters of methanol and water mixed fuel are consumed (the ratio of methanol to water is 6:4, and the fuel tank volume is 60L).

     

    In addition to its own core patented technology, Ai Chi Gongbo has also found Danish fuel cell company SerEnergy for cooperative research and development in the selection of solution suppliers. Therefore, RG not only combines batteries and methanol reforming hydrogen fuel cells, but also has a battery capacity of about 60kWh. Through such an energy combination, the vehicle's endurance has also been greatly improved. Therefore, the final test result is that under the condition of constant speed driving at 80 kilometers, the comprehensive endurance of RG can reach more than 850 kilometers, and the theoretical endurance can reach 1200km.
